Syracuse, NY, January 03, 2011 – Splice Detector Technologies (SDT), the leader in providing splice detection technologies announced today that it has received an order to supply its state of the art splice detection technology for a leading multinational manufacturer of web format printing presses.  The technology will be integrated to provide detection of all known splice (joint) faults.  The defect fault signals will then be tracked to initiate the release of print head stations to allow the defect part of the web through.  This process will eliminate unnecessary damage to sensitive components that can cost tens of thousands of dollars per year.  The defect fault signal can also be utilized in optional rejection processes if applicable thus facilitating the removal of all defective areas.
